Raks New England Sports Blog

About Me

This blog will be about New England Sports, covering the Patriots, Celtics and Red Sox mainly. I am not a writer  by any stretch of the imagination (i will spell this wrong, make no sense, and have wrong grammar), my brother who works for a un named Magazine in New York took all those genes but I am a die hard sports (mainly New England Sports) fan. I am a huge Patriots, Red Sox and Celtics fan so I will give my opinions, breaking news, analysis, game break downs ect.  I also will blog about books, movies and sporting events that I have seen (to give my opinion and reviews). Rhode Island sports will also have a big impact on my blog from High School, College and pro players from RI. I hope you enjoy.

Hopefully some of you already know me because I’ve been blogging about the Red Sox for 2 years now. My name is Victoria G. and I’m 10. I am one of 25 finalists for Captain of Red Sox Kid Nation and I need your help. I REALLY want to win because I will get the chance to help kids, go to a Red Sox game & other cool stuff. You can vote for me up 10 times with one email address. Here’s the link to vote and my name is near the bottom of the ballot. I’d also LOVE it if you’d leave a note on my blog. I love hearing from other fans

I wish you would vote for me and send this to everyone you know. I would be a good captain because I like to help people especially kids. Read my essay & you’ll see why I think I would be a good captain

I try to help kids by showing them that even though we aren’t old enough to vote that we can still do important things and make a difference. I have done lots of things to try to help kids. When the North Shore Spirit baseball team was leaving Lynn I started a petition to keep them in Lynn so kids would have something fun and safe to do during the summer. I got more than 800 signatures with the help of my friends and we were on the news and in the newspaper. The team left but we tried our best and trying is an important as winning. At least we let people know how much we loved the team and we all worked togther. I also put a North Shore Spirit float in the Lynn Christmas parade to thank the team and everyone had fun riding on it and watching it. I do a lot of other things too. I helped my friend Athena sell lollipops to raise money for breast cancer research and sometimes I go with my great grandmother to help feed hungry people at a church in Lynn. I give away my old toys and clothes to people that need them. I also try to help kids if they are being picked on by bigger kids because nobody should be scared or picked on. And if somebody doesn’t have a friend because they’re not cool or different I ask them to be my friend. But the most important thing I want to do is let kids know they don’t need to join gangs, take drugs and smoke cigarettes to be cool. You don’t have to be in the popular club or a sports star to be cool because being cool is doing things to help other people and make the world better. I would be a good captain of Kid Nation because I know how to work with other people and get kids involved in projects like I did with the “Save Our Spirit” project. My North Shore Spirit Baseball Collection is in the Lynn Historical Society Museum. I applied for their collections contest and was picked so all the kids in Lynn get to look at my collection and enjoy it like I do. I like sharing my stuff with other people. It makes me happy and them happy. I also know lots about the Red Sox. I am a huge Red Sox fan and watch every game I can on television. I have been to games at Fenway too. I collect Red Sox baseball cards and like Jonathan Papelbon, Curt Schilling and the older players like Tony C. and Johnny Pesky. You can see my blog at http://alextrezzafanclub.blogspot.com/ for more information about me.

If I could ask any player a question I would ask Team Captain Jason Varitek what he learned as a kid that helped him be such a good team captain and what advice he would give kids that want to be leaders not just in sports but in everything they do.

    Thank You

    Victoria G.

    Hi,

I visited your sports blog Raks New England Sports Blog at http://raksnewenglandsportsblog.wordpress.com. You have really great articles and I’m glad I found your site.

I would like to know if you’re accepting guest blog posts, I’d like to send you an original blog entry on basketball which I think would fit nicely with your site. I’m doing this for free but would only require 1 backlink in the article to my site.

Please let me know if you’re interested in publishing this basketball blog entry so I can send it to you for publication soon.

    Thank you

    Shirly Giagone
