Cubs cucu for Coco?

March 10, 2008 · 5 Comments

According to multiple sources the Cubs want CF Coco Crisp. Chicago has two young center fielders both whom have not impressed enough to grab the starting position and now the Cubs are looking at Coco to fill that need. Numerous names have been rumored to been going to the Sox in exchange for Coco, among them are: Jason Marquis (who the sox want no part of), OF Sam Fuld (ditto), P Sean Marshall, P prospect Sean Gallager and P Rich Hill (I wish).

You know I just love Coco Crisp and I don’t want to see him go anywhere, but if he is just going to sit on a bench and not play that often I think he should be traded. He is to good to just sit there.

Not only that he has expressed that he would rather go somewhere else if that is going to happen. Can’t blame him one bit.

I dont blame him for wanting to start either. I do think that he would be a perfect 4th outfielder because of his speed, switch hitting ability and defense but he doesnt want to be a 4th outfielder and I understand that.

Yeah it’s gonna suck to lose him, but he will be happier if he does not get the starting spot, which it does not look like he will be getting that.

I think losing Coco just makes sense for Ellsbury. We have to make sure we have a 4th OF we can trust though. Maybe Bobby Kielty?

    I like Sean Marshall. He’s got potential…

If we can possibly get Rich Hill, which i doubt or Sean Marshall I would be happy….Coco needs to get healthy and play in order for teams to value you him.
