Zach Thomas a Cowboy

According to Sporting News Zach Thomas and the Cowboys have agreed to terms. Thomas wanted to play for a winner and I thought that it was between the Pats and the cowboys. I thought he would be a good addition but its not that big of a blow. We will have to address the linebacker position either through FA or draft. Well see what Bruschi and Seau do. I hope that we do not move A. Thomas to MLB because we all saw the impact he can have on the outside.

Help on the way??? Celts have interest in Cassell, B. Barry, F. Murray, J Magloire.

With the celtics losing their last three games, their biggest losing streak of the season, help could be on the way. According to the Globe, the Celtics have interest in numerous players including: Brent Barry, Sam Cassell, Flip Murray, and Jamal Magloire.

Brent Barry was just waived by the Sonics after being traded their from the Spurs. He  will become an unrestricted free agent today and is expected to get interest from Boston, San Antonio, Phoenix, Denver, Houston, Golden State, and the Lakers.  He-has averaged a little over 7 points and 1.8 assists in 29 games with San Antonio this season. Barry is known for his 3 point shot has shot 43 percent from 3-point range. Barry also has the playoff experience that the Celtics might need down the stretch (2 championships and 68 playoff games).

I believe that he could be a good fit with his 3 point shooting,  free throw shooting (98 percent) and experience down the stretch.

The Celtics also have interest in recently waived Guard  Flip Murray  and Center Jamal Magloire.

‘‘We’ll just evaluate who comes off waivers and see where they fit in with us,’’ Ainge said. ‘‘But I don’t feel we have to do anything. I like our team. At the same time, we’ve saved two roster spots for players that could help us this time of the year. We’ll continue to evaluate those players.’’

Again the Sam Cassell rumors pop up. He must be waived by March 1st in order to be able to on the Playoff roster. Hopefully he will get his release because as I stated before he would be an ideal pick up for our playoff run. More on this as it picks up steam.
