The Patriots have agreed to terms with special teams captain Larry Izzo.

“Larry will be back with the team,” agent Drew Rosenhaus confirmed at the combine Thursday. “He’s had a great career there. He loves the coaches and the continuity, just everything about the situation.”
Izzo is also very good friends with Zach Thomas and could persuade him to come to Foxboro. Thomas got an offer from New Orleans yesterday.
On another note Assante Samuel seems to be headed from free agency. His agent said he does not expect any last minute deals with the Patriots. “Right now, we have our target and we’re waiting on the 29th to kick in,” Shavers said.
Assante will probably be looking for a contract in the range of 10-12 million a year for 5-6 years. My guess is he will be playing somewhere else next year.
